Top Vegetarian Restos

Bodhi is on the top 10. :-p

Not that I'm a fan of gluten and veggie-meat... but for a mobile vegetarian pinoy in the city, Bodhi is definitely my number 1 fast food option.

Thanks Ben for the link.

Just a thought. Yoga has connected people in the University... chem... psych... allied health... masscom... hk... the gods must be cooking something. Everything for the good of mankind... but first maybe... UP-kind... or Jogas-kind... up-or-out in 5 semesters.

Om.

---
Oh, and last saturday... I believe a blogger joined my class. I think she is but just doesn't want to be known. See you next week.

---
Hope the sky becomes clearer so that light might shine upon the mind.

---
The type of food and amount of rest both affect one's practice... yes I know. I just had a sluggish one this morning. Om 1... om 2... om 3... om 4... om 5...

---
Tomorrow... kriyas.

Om.

---
Maybe I should get a twitter account.

Fitness benefits of yoga differ by style

The fitness benefits of yoga depends on which style or method one practices (Cowen & Adams, 2005).

Before this creates a long debate regarding which style is the best, let us be reminded of the ultimate goal of yoga - self-realization, enlightenment, integration, union.

The different approaches to the asana method simply give us options. My thought is... whatever style you choose, keep these two things in mind:
  1. A traditional method is good because it provides us with lineage and keeps us close to the original goal. Examples of traditional approaches are Ashtanga vinyasa yoga, Iyengar, and Sivananda.
  2. A contemporary approach is as good because it utilizes modern approaches, uses research-based information from exercise science and psychology, and may be more applicable to the present. Some of these contemporary approaches are Jivamukti Yoga, Anusara, and Bikram.

Emptying the Cup

How do we learn something new if we don't empty the cup first?

Always have a beginner's mindset.

Cooking Not Happening

Nothing's happening in the kitchen except washing the dish and bowl that are used for breakfast.

Breakfast
Coffee
Muesli + yoghurt + banana (sometimes with papaya), or;
Cinnamon bagel with raisins + peanut butter, or;
Multi-grain toast with butter and kaya

Lunch
Bodhi 99pesos meal (1 cup of white rice, 2 choices of viands, plus a a choice of noodles, small drink),

Dinner
Vegetable yakisoba, 3 pcs tofu furai, 1 cup of white rice, miso soup, at Karate Kid Trinoma.
Sometimes I go to Likha Diwa, especially on Thursdays or Fridays, and have a healthy meal.

Then something sinful in between, like glazed donuts, bread with kaya or purple yam from Breadtalk, brownies, or iced coffee.

That's the life of a yogi in the city... without yaya. :-p

For more chitta vrittis... I'll now use the other blog.

Where you from? Japan?

"I'm from the Philippines."

Both Sharath and Saraswathi asked me that question on different occasions.

While cleaning the room earlier today, I saw this cd in one of the drawers. This was a gift from my uncles.

I'm not very good at describing things so I'll just post some of his videos here and hope you'll enjoy his music as much as I do.

Liberating... meditative... uplifting... spiritual...

Thanks mates!

It's been a lazy sunday. The kitchen hasn't been used lately... only when I wash the bowl, mug and plate that I used for breakfast. Bowl for the muesli, banana and yoghurt. Plate for the kaya toast. Mug for the coffee.

Inshallah, I'd be motivated to cook this week.
