Ashtanga Closing Chant by Guruji

Swasthi prajabhyah pari pala yantam
Nyayena margena mahim mahishaha
Gobrahmannebhyaha shubamastunityam
Lokah samastha sukhino bhavantu
Om shanti, shanti, shanti..

Let prosperity be glorified
Let rulers (administrators) rule the world with law and justice
Let all things divine be protected
Let people of the world be happy, peaceful and free
Om peace, peace, peace

Epic Flood

Read the article from GMA News.TV here.

Got stranded in EDSA Shang after the morning class in Chi. Had lunch with yogini-friends, stayed there the whole day... even watched a movie to pass the time... Trin and Chona waited for updates in the hotel while I took the MRT back to QC.

Had to walk from Trinoma to Proj 6 because there were no jeepneys and the traffic in North Avenue-EDSA was not moving. Walked for 31 minutes but still not enough to meet my daily quota of 10000 steps (only 6833 steps yesterday). Well, that's because we spend the whole day sitting in the cafe and movie house.

Just learned that UST is doing a research on physical activity using pedometers. I wonder if they 've already published their initial results.

We were in a far more better place than most of our kababayans.

A chant to remove obstacles.

A wake up call.

Ashtanga Opening Mantra

I bow to the feet of the Supreme Guru
The awakening happiness of one's own Self revealed
Beyond better, acting like the jungle physician,
Pacifying delusion, the poison of conditioned existence.
Taking the form of a man to the shoulders,
Holding a conch, a discus, and a sword,
One thousand heads white,
To Patanjali, I salute.
Om

Brahma Arpanam

"This chant from the Bhagavad Gita (4:24) that is traditionally chanted before eating as a means of reflecting on the inter-related nature of all things." - Yoga Workshop

Brahmarpanam Brahma Havir
Brahmagnau Brahmana Hutam
Brahmaiva Tena Gantavyam
Brahmakarmasamadhina

Om

Brahman is the Offering, Brahman is the Oblation,
Poured out by Brahman into the fire of Brahman,
Brahman is to be attained by one,
Who contemplates the action of Brahman.
