Redefining my priorities

2nd asana practice of the year.  Feels good to be back on the mat.

18 days to Stillpoint.

Have to focus and start redefining my priorities...

"We can choose to spend more of our time and energy on what gives our lives meaning. We can spend more time with loved ones and do more of what we enjoy. Doing so may not always prove easy, and there will inevitably be times when circumstances interfere with our resolution, yet we do not have to regard this as an indication that our priorities are not in alignment with who we really are." - Daily Om January 1, 2009.

Detox Drink

Yesterday was a full moon.  What a great way to start MMX.  After having all those garbage in my system, my body already asked for some detox this morning.  I was supposed to delay my new year cleansing program because I'll be having lunch with family today at one of the restaurants here - this means, most of the time, not-veggie-friendly.  So, whatever was sitting in my stomach had to come out.  That means, vaman time.  Great!

Practice was good this morning but I could feel the extra lard I've put on my midsection as bind wasn't as deep as they used to be.  I'd like to believe I've put on muscle mass as my family in Marbel said I looked stronger than the year before.  That was the time when I came back from India and they commendted that I looked underfed and malnourished.  Different perceptions from different people.  Nevertheless, primary is intact so no worries.  Besides, isn't yoga not all about what's being done on the mat?

After practice, I whipped my favorite detox drink for the year.

1 small cucumber diced
half an apple diced
juice of half an orange
thumb-size fresh ginger
1 celery stalk
half a cup of water.

Put everything on a blender and liquify!

Now I feel cleaner and healthier again.

Pictures next time.

I fly back to Manila on Monday and will teach my first commercial yoga class on Saturday.  Yes, "commercial" yoga.  That was the term that the Ananda Marga guy used to describe the types of yoga that are  being taught nowadays.  I didn't want to argue so I kept my mouth shut.

Next week will be all led-classes at all Yoga Manila studios.  Check out the announcement here.

I feel like going against the ordinary this year.

Back to Black in 2010

It's the International Year of Biodiversity.

UN Secretary General Welcome Message for the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity from CBD on Vimeo.

It's the Year of the White Tiger.

What's in store for the Taurus?
(from Indrasto Vedic Astrology)

"2010 is going to be a landmark year for Taurus.  Tangible gains might not be many but you will grow in stature  as well create new opportunities and values which would create progress and gains for next few years.

This year will find your creative abilities at an high and there would be practical and rational ideas which will propel you to new heights.  Your view points will be accepted with respect."

Sounds good to me.

However, according to Chinese Fortune Calendar...

"Snake and Tiger don't fight face to face. But Snake and Tiger cannot get along too well. This implies that Snake's public relationship is very poor in 2010, year of Tiger. Poor people relationship will impact career opportunity, business promotion and love relationship. Therefore, Snake people will lack a peaceful mind and happy mood in 2010. Some Lucky Stars gather in Love area. Snake people need to avoid any argument with boy/girl friends, spouse, close family members or business partners. They must control their temper and emotion when things go wrong. Otherwise, it will be very easy to lose friendships, love, business relationships or career opportunities."

Life continues...

And I'm back to black.

May All be Well this Christmas Season

Thanks to youtube user Arven for this video.

Can't help but be amazed how time flies.  It's something we cannot save... something we cannot return to.

"Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived." - Captain Jean-Luc Picard

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
